FROM THE HEART
In the coming year, our focus will remain on social impact issues that we believe we are uniquely positioned to advance, and we are committed to ongoing innovation in the pursuit of our mission. Greenway is excited to forge ahead to broaden our reach as we apply lessons learned to improve current initiatives and iterate ideas to test new concepts. Measuring the impact of our work to account for social performance will remain in the context of our main objective; it is the people behind the numbers that are truly important.

“Everything Corica Park is doing to create a welcoming, diverse space for the entire community is working. I can see it and I can feel it! I have lived in Alameda for 10 years, but have never spent so much time at the course as I have in the last month.”
cofounder of Alameda Parents Unified
"In 2021, we began to work in partnership with the Greenway team to develop the On the Green Camp. The camp addressed many of the barriers that exclude underserved youth from recreational programming. Beyond the camps, the Greenway team has hosted more than 125 SWB youth on their footgolf course, an activity our participants have come to love. We have hosted staff training at Corica Park, using the facilities to train new staff who go on to make a positive impact for Alameda County youth. These unique opportunities were made possible by the vision and dedication of Avani and Umesh to make Corica Park accessible. Avani, Umesh and the Greenway team do so much to benefit youth and non-profit organizations in the East Bay, and are exactly the type of leaders we need stewarding our public spaces: inclusive, visionary and willing to roll up their sleeves to make long overdue, positive changes."

"We are proud to call Corica Park our HOME COURSE. I run over 75 events during the year at an array of golf courses all over Northern California and seldom are we treated the way the staff, management and ownership does at Corica Park."
Executive Director of The Junior Golf Association of Northern California
“The challenge Corica brings on the golf course makes us more confident when we compete in our tournaments and we are grateful to have Corica as one of our biggest resources. Thank you for your continuous support. Go Bears!"
"I can speak on behalf of the Alameda High School golfer’s parents and say how grateful they are for the amount of golf access their children have been given…The impact that Avani and Umesh Patel are making in our community is amazing. I am so happy to be part of it."
Amelia Earhart Elementary Physical Education and Alameda High School golf coach
"I think that Greenway is doing amazing work in our community….They're committed to letting people use their space for all kinds of community events and even hosted our first fundraiser last month. They're committed to equity and inclusion and are a shining example of what businesses in Alameda should be about... community."
Founder All Good Living Foundation and Do Good Sports
"I am so excited about all of the tremendous work that is happening at Corica Park in Alameda. Greenway is developing wonderful golf courses and creating a real community asset under Umesh’s leadership. The Unity Council staff has used the small course and meeting rooms for offsite retreats and we are grateful for Greenway donating the space to us. Unity Council kids will enjoy the free summer camps this year for a whole week, and this speaks to the impact Greenway and Corica Park is having in the larger East Bay beyond Alameda."
CEO of The Unity Council
"I have lived in Alameda for 20 years and I had never been to the golf course until these camps. I never thought it was a place where someone like me would be welcome, but after this, I realize that Corica Park and APC share the same mission."
Alameda Point Collaborative Education Center Director
"I felt such a strong bond with everyone and I wouldn’t trade this summer for any other event. I felt that this working environment pushed me to be my best not just for the kids but also for myself."
"What I find is that no matter what background you come from, it was a place where everyone felt noticed and appreciated. It helped me realize that golf space can be utilized for so much more than just golf."
"Tamara, Avani and all the coaches, you have made a real difference in [my son’s life] and mine. Thank you for your energy, kindness, enthusiasm and inspiration. [My son] has never played golf (or any sport) prior to the camp and now he says golf is his sport. You have made a true difference and we’ll never forget all you did for him!"
On The Green Summer Camp Parent
"The staff and coaches are phenomenal. My son has a learning disability and he was well supported throughout the camp. He learned golf techniques and had a great time."
"I want to learn more golf! The golfing was hella fun not gonna lie. I didn't think golf was going to be like this, I had a lot of fun today."
"Highlight of our summer so far! Thank you for this amazing experience! It really contributed to the fun and engaging aspect of summer camp! Teens are already asking to return next year."
Teen Program Director
"Thank you for letting us golf. I really liked it. It was really fun. I learned a lot and the food tasted really good. Thank you very much and God bless you."
"This opportunity takes the financial burden off of my family who works so hard to pay rent and support my dreams. It can bring my game to a whole new level. My goal is a college golf scholarship to get the education I need for a better future."
